From the experts, why we love Newport Beach

October 8, 2014

Insider Scoop Alert! Since our organization lives and breathes Newport Beach daily, we decided to poll a few of our colleagues to see what they enjoy most about the city, that we call “work.”

From our executive team to administration and sales to marketing, here is a sampling of our co-workers explaining to you what they love most about Newport Beach.

Amanda Feld, Director of PR & Communications
I love how chic yet quaint the city actually is. From the amazing shopping at Fashion Island to the culinary options around town to the most opulent hotels, the city has so much to offer! I love to explore all the local artisan and merchant shops too!

Amanda Kliem, Director of Sales
My favorite thing about Newport Beach is boating in Newport Harbor, as it is a big hobby of my family and mine. Most of my free time is spent on the water, I even met my husband at our yacht club (Balboa Yacht Club).

Bette Haddock, National Account Director
I enjoy the incredible weather in Southern California, the sunsets in Newport Beach and being able to explore our harbor on Duffy Boats. I also love to shop, shop, shop!

Brianna Saucedo, Digital Marketing Coordinator
I love Newport Beach so much that I got engaged (at Little Corona Beach), took my engagement photos and am getting married in Newport Beach! Our waterfront venue is sure to wow our out of town guests from Chicago!

Gary Sherwin, President & CEO
I love the fact that this is a sophisticated community with a small town feel. It’s where you can enjoy a spectacular breakfast by the pool at Pelican Hill and then go to the candy shop on Marine Avenue on Balboa Island within minutes, coupled with drop dead beautiful views of the ocean that you’ll find anywhere. I love to drive down Pacific Coast Highway on a clear sunny day by Crystal Cove after a great lunch or dinner and a morning on a Duffy ride in the Harbor. The “people watching” at Fashion Island is also a great way to spend the afternoon.

Lori Hoy, National Account Director
The natural beauty of the city, you can tell that people take pride in their city. It’s clean, beautifully manicured, sophisticated yet relaxed.

Mark Rudyk, Director of Digital Marketing
Living here – waking up to the sounds of the waves in the morning and heading out on a paddle, getting on the beach cruiser for a ride down the boardwalk, walking down to the local bar for a game of pool or grabbing a bite of tasty seafood at Bear Flag Fish Co. Everyday I like to take in all the beauty around me, and translate that to inspiring posts via social media channels to all the tens of thousands I get to reach on a daily basis and share rich photos and inspiring posts on everything that is Newport Beach.

Michelle Donahue, Senior Vice President of Sales
I love the “small town feeling” of Newport Beach, I like to drive or walk in residential neighborhoods looking at the awesome houses and yards. We even encourage our employees to take “walk breaks” throughout the day. One of my favorite places to stroll is through Rogers Gardens.

If you ask me, my favorite aspect of Newport Beach is the unique and alluring juxtaposition between high-end luxury and casual beach vibe the city offers to locals and visitors. My favorite things to do is spend time outside whether it’s on the beach, an outdoor activity (try glow-in-the-dark standup paddleboarding with Pirate Coast Paddle Co. and definitely see Newport Harbor), dining al fresco (Babette’s, Cucina Enoteca, The Dock), shopping (Seafolly, Bardot, CandlEssence) or imply strolling through a neighborhood and discovering something new.

On behalf of our entire company, we hope you find Newport Beach as beautiful, delightful and inviting as we do. We hope you enjoy your stay with us and come back soon!
