Domenico Maurici was born in a farm village in Calabria, South of Italy, close to a very attractive beach-city called Tropea.
Il Gelato Café was established in 2006 as a new adventure for Domenico, twelve years later after he opened his first Italian restaurant “Il Farro” in the heart of Newport Beach. Making artisan gelato is another passion of Domenico’s. “It is just another art of cooking”.
For Domenico, there is no end of making gelato flavors. Flavors range from the traditional and classic to the exotic and unimaginable. We are devoted to making all of our products from scratch using organic and local ingredients whenever possible.
