Dine Newport Beach Restaurant Week

January 12, 2015

Prepare to “Seize the Dish” and take a tasty culinary journey during Newport Beach Restaurant Week, January 19 – February 1.

Because this annual event is so popular with locals and visitors, Dine Newport Beach Restaurant Week has expanded to two weeks this year! That means more time to sample menus at your favorite restaurants and try new dishes at recently-opened bistros.

This year, there are four price points for lunch ($10, $15, $20 and $25) and four for dinner ($20, $30, $40, $50), and a number of new restaurants are participating, including Provenance, which opened last spring.

“I like to look at Restaurant Week as an opportunity to communicate with my guests,” said Cathy Pavlos, Executive Chef and Owner of Provenance. “It has never been about making money during this time. Our primary focus is to open the door, and bring people in to see what we do, and hopefully, in the process, we win them over.”

With 60 restaurants participating in Restaurant Week this year, it’s easy to find something appealing on almost every menu, and at almost every price point. In addition to Provenance, new restaurants participating this year include Fig & Olive, Red O, Cucina Enoteca, Bluefin, Five Crowns, Oak Grill at Island Hotel, Pizza Nova, Settebello, The Waffle Affair, and Waterlline at Balboa Bay Resort.

The cuisine runs the gamut from Italian and French to Irish, Mexican, Indian, Thai, and classic California coastal.

Another new element this year is that all the menus are available to preview on the DineNB.com website. The website is also running a fun social media contest called Share the Dish. Simply dine out during Newport Beach Restaurant Week, take a photo of your restaurant week dish, tag it DineNB and mention the restaurant, and share it on Instagram. You could win a Culinary Overnight Experience from Oak Grill and The Island Hotel that includes luxurious overnight accommodations in a corner suite for two people, with complimentary valet parking for one vehicle and access to the Island Club. Experience the chic aesthetic of Oak Grill with an exclusive Chef’s Tasting Menu Dinner for two. Locally renown Chef Marc Johnson will help you create your own tasting menu from an array gourmet choices of redefined classics and contemporary California cuisine. Chef Marc will personally meet with you at your table to discuss menu options and deliver information and descriptions of each dish.
