111th ANNUAL NEWPORT BEACH CHRISTMAS BOAT PARADE OPENING NIGHT

WHAT:                   You’re invited to the 111th Annual Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade opening night media event for visuals of 100 extravagantly decorated boats and media interviews with celebrities, dignitaries and the public.

  • Red carpet for interviews with Grand Marshal: Christina Anstead HGTV’s “Christina on the Coast” and “Flip or Flop” star
  • Interview opportunities with City dignitaries
    • Newport Beach Mayor Will O’Neill
    • Boat Parade founder’s grandson David Beek
    • Gary Sherwin, president & CEO, Newport Beach & Company
  • Family-friendly community event on location for interviews with public
  • Designated viewing area for camera crews to shoot boat parade

WHEN:                  Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 4:30 p.m.

  • 4:30 p.m.: Media Arrival
  • 5:00 p.m.: Red Carpet Begins
  • 5:15 p.m.: Media Event Begins (concludes at 5:45 p.m.)
  • 6:15 p.m.: Fireworks Display: (Newport Pier)
  • 6:45 p.m.: Christmas Boat Parade Floats by Marina Park

ABOUT:                The 111th Annual Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade kicks off on Wednesday, Dec. 18-22, 2019 beginning at 6:30 p.m. every night. This is America’s longest running boat parade and the largest in Southern California. The parade sails around a 14-mile course in Newport Harbor, there are 53+ viewing locations on the waterfront – islands, Balboa Peninsula, parks and over a dozen restaurants for special prix fixe boat parade menus and nearly 20 boat charters and tours.

Opening and closing nights include spectacular fireworks displays and every night features a different grand marshal.

Marina Park on Opening Night:

A prime viewing location and on-the-sand family-friendly event features food and entertainment including Sgt. Pepperoni’s, Malibu Farm, LA Chargers and Girl Scouts of America and live musical performance by The Young Americans.
