Handcrafted burgers and craft brews comes to Newport Beach in summer 2015
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., March 2015 – Hopdoddy Burger Bar, the fresh burger and beer eatery from Austin, TX, is slated to open at Fashion Island this summer. Deemed one of the “The Best Burgers in America” by Food & Wine magazine, this will be one of the first Hopdoddy locations in California.
Hopdoddy was created to express the perfect union of beer, the “hop,” and burgers, the “doddy,” the nickname given to the native cow in Aberdeen, Scotland. Hopdoddy is committed to using the freshest, all-natural ingredients available and grinds hormone-free, antibiotic-free Black Angus beef in-house. All burger buns are baked from scratch while all fries are hand cut from select Kennebec potatoes.
“We are thrilled to bring one of Hopdoddy’s first California locations to Fashion Island this summer,” said Stacie Ellis, senior director of marketing for Irvine Company Retail Properties. “The award-winning burger and craft beer concept will be such a great addition to our diverse collection of restaurants.”
The menu features a number of all-natural burgers including the “Goodnight for a Good Cause” Burger with black Angus beef patty, Beeler’s bacon, Tillamook cheddar, jalapenos and hickory BBQ sauce. Plus one dollar from every Goodnight purchased will go to a locally-based charity. There’s also the Thunderbird, with all-natural chicken, Tillamook pepper jack, apple-smoked bacon, avocado, seared poblanos, pico de gallo and chipotle; and the Ahi Tuna burger with sushi-grade ahi tuna, sunflower sprouts, nori chips, teriyaki, honey wasabi, and pickled ginger. A variety of craft beers from local, small batch, artisanal brewers complete the Hopdoddy Burger Bar menu.
Four premier restaurateurs – Larry Foles, Guy Villavaso, Larry Perdido and Chuck Smith, created the Hopdoddy concept. Now with seven locations, Hopdoddy is entering California for the first time in 2015. Hopdoddy Burger Bar will be located adjacent to Macy’s, behind Tesla.
