Newport Beach Restaurant Week Returns January 18-31 with record-breaking participants and delectable menus

WHAT: Kicking off Monday, January 18, Newport Beach Restaurant Week, presented by Dine Newport Beach and the Newport Beach Restaurant Association, returns for 14 days of culinary adventure in the Southern California seaside community. 2016 marks the 10-year anniversary of the longest standing Orange County restaurant week, with a record-breaking 60+ participating eateries. Newport Beach Restaurant Week invites diners to explore the five distinct neighborhoods within the city limits with two-or three-course, prix fixe lunch and dinner menus starting at the approachable $10 for lunch and maxing out at $50 for dinner.

With the increased 2016 restaurant participation, economic impact is expected to exceed the 2015 consumer spend of $4.6 million within the community of 85,000, and continue to support Newport Beach’s growth as a rising culinary destination.

New 2016 participants:

Menus for all participating restaurants are available online at www. www.dinenb.com/restaurant-week/. As a nod to the overarching platform of “Feed Your Curiosity,” curated dining guides based upon “foodie personalities,” a sample selection includes:

For the “carnivore”:

  • Pescadou Bistro Venaison en Daube- Venison, Syrah-Grenache red wine, array of sautéed mushrooms, fingerling potatoes
  • The Ritz Prime Seafood– American Wagyu Short Ribs- Whipped Yukon potatoes, demi-glace, cipollini onions

For the “health nut”:

  • True Food Kitchen – Sustainable Steelhead Salmon – Smoked Onion Tabbouleh, Arugula, Golden Beet & Cilantro Pumpkin Seed Pesto
  • Provenance– Ancient Grains Super Chop- 12 Super veggies and herbs, quinoa, farro, assorted seeds, ricotta salata cheese, sherry vinaigrette and choice of protein

For the “sweet treat freak”:

  • Hopdoddy Burger Bar – Hand Churned Shake – A choice of vanilla, stout chocolate, tres leches, caramel & sea salt, red velvet cake, Oreo, Nutella or chocolate pretzel
  • Red OFlan de Caramelo- Caramel flan, Mexican chocolate cake, micro herbs

For the “food critic”:

  • Oak Grill– Grilled Pork Chop- Smoked cherries, broccolini, pork belly risotto & Maderia demi
  • 21 Oceanfront– Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail- garlic mashed potatoes

For feeding your “inner circle”:

  • The Beachcomber at Crystal Cove– Cavatelli Pasta- Spinach, English peas, broccolini pesto, shaved Parmesan cheese
  • Woody’s Wharf– Traditional Paella- Clams, mussels, shrimp, sea scallops, cod, Spanish chorizo with saffron rice

WHEN: Monday, January 18- Sunday, January 31

COST: Lunch: $10/$15/$20/$25 per person

Dinner: $20/$30/$40/$50 per person

Pricing to vary based up on restaurant, and excludes tax and gratuity

No passes, tickets, or coupons are required for those looking to explore Newport Beach during the culinary festival
