Newport Channel Inn

Newport Channel Inn has the honor of being rated as a “Top Value” hotel by TripAdvisor, no easy feat! If you want an authentic Newport Beach experience you have to enjoy some time on a deck. This inn offers a community rooftop sundeck with tables and chairs so you can relax, bring your meal outside or play card games with family and friends. Speaking of family and friends, it’s great for groups with rooms accommodating up to seven and connecting rooms. Beach towels are even provided, and yes, free Wi-Fi too!

Holiday Inn Express

All the reasons we know and love Holiday Inn: free breakfast including eggs several ways, sausage, cereals, pastries, and those amazing machines that spit out perfect pancakes every time; pool, jacuzzi, cabana area, fitness center, and yep, you guessed it – free Wi-Fi! All within 1.5 miles of the beach.

Little Inn by the Bay

Another Newport Beach local must is a ride down the boardwalk on a beach cruiser. Little Inn by the Bay helps you check that off your list with free-to-borrow bikes. Close to the beach and also the pier, this inn has a lovely patio with tables, chairs, and umbrellas so you can sip your morning coffee or tea in Newport Beach’s great weather before heading out for fun in the sun. Oh yeah, and of course, free Wi-Fi.

Newport Beach Hotel

Another recently remodeled hotel, this spot has all the beach vibes with its clean, traditional coastal decor. One of the really unique features of Newport Beach Hotel is that it offers small cottages called “sailor suites” that feature one to two bedrooms and full-size kitchens – truly live steps from the beach! It also provides free continental breakfast and there’s a lobby wine bar with wine, local microbrews, snacks, and happy hour specials. They’ll lend you bicycles, chairs, towels, and umbrellas, and I can’t forget to mention the free Wi-Fi!

Balboa Inn

Located right on the beach and very near to Balboa pier, this inn has a modern aesthetic with an oceanfront sundeck and Jacuzzi. If you’re not sold yet, they offer free continental breakfast served on the ocean-view terrace and, because you need to know, free Wi-Fi. They also have facilities for meetings, events, and weddings. Newport Beach is a beautiful location for seaside nuptials.

Doryman’s Oceanfront Inn

Doryman’s is special and not just because it is the closest of these hotels to the beach, but because it is a historic hotel. With all its Victorian charm, it only has 11 rooms, each with its own fireplace. If you happened to be thinking of a winter getaway that includes toes in the sand by day and cozy fire by night, this would be a great place to stay! It also sits above fine dining restaurant, 21 Oceanfront. Even with its vintage charm, you can enjoy modern amenities like free continental breakfast and the essential – free WiFi.

Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel

Did someone say fresh baked cookies?! You can count me in already, but the Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel also has five stars on TripAdvisor, is very close to the beach and Balboa Pier, and has a rooftop sundeck with ocean and bay views. They’ll even lend you beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, and beach toys. Since you’re now probably thinking you’d like to stay for a while, you’ll be happy to hear about the two-bedroom suites, including the Bay Suite, with a master bedroom, guest bedroom, full kitchen and a private deck. For those long stays, it’s important I mention the breakfast buffet, coin operated laundry and, of course, free Wi-Fi.
