War Heroes on Water (WHOW) Tournament Boat Parade

Annual War Heroes on Water Charitable Sport Fishing Tournament Kicks Off 2022 Event with Boat Parade Through Newport Harbor!

War Heroes on Water (WHOW) returns for its fifth year with a transformative sport-fishing tournament off the coast of Southern California to help combat-wounded veterans recover from the physical and emotional wounds of war.

Open to the public, the event kicks off with an inspiring, patriotic and visually stunning community boat parade around the Balboa Basin in Newport Harbor. As anticipation and attendance for the parade has grown each year, organizers have created a new route increasing the number of easy-to-access public viewing areas ensuring as many spectators as possible can see the rousing event from the water and the shores.

The parade will feature 50 of the SoCal sport-fishing community’s top yachts. The public is invited to celebrate and cheer on our veterans sharing a deep appreciation for the sacrifices these brave men and women have made as members of the U.S. armed forces – as they embark on their 2022 WHOW journey.

Created by loanDepot Founder and Executive Chairman Anthony Hsieh, this year’s tournament takes place September 23-27 and is once again breaking records, with the number of participating veterans rising to125 with 50 sport-fishing yachts.

WHOW shines a spotlight on the challenges veterans face when they return home after their tours and raises funds for the tournament’s 501c3 partner, Freedom Alliance, which supports the rehabilitation needs of wounded service members and their families.
