Nights of a Thousand Lights at Sherman Gardens

Nights of a Thousand Lights at Sherman Gardens

For two nights only, Sherman Gardens will be illuminated with a thousand luminarias, holiday lights and festive decorations. On Friday, December 11, and Saturday, December 12, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, luminary bags will line the walkways guiding visitors from one magical experience to the next. Celebrating the heritage of our most beloved Christmas flower the poinsettia, the Tea Garden will be adorned with hundreds of these Central American beauties, and the sounds of a festive mariachi band will fill the air. Homemade tamales by Nana’s tamales, as well as, beer, wine & champagne will be available for purchase. Complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, cookies and s’mores will warm the soul. There will also be children’s activities and whimsical props in the selfie booth.

Each section of the Gardens will have unique lighting and decorations ranging from an alpine forest with a “frozen” stream and pond to the magical spaghetti forest. The Conservatory will feature a tropical storm of light, while Fern and Cycad Alley are transformed into a tunnel of light. The centerpiece of the display will be a grand 20’ Christmas tree surrounded by a festive display of cyclamen and snapdragons. Antique toys and classic Christmas photos will be on exhibit in the Adobe Gallery.

Admission is open to all. Tickets are $8.00 for members of the Sherman Library & Gardens Friends program and $10.00 for non-members and children under 5 are free. You may purchase tickets at the Gardens or through the Sherman Library & Gardens’ website at www.slgardens.org. Tickets are limited this year and this event will sell out.
