Kayak Paddle under a shimmering full moon with expert guide, Danny Hough. In the Spring and Summer the paddle sets out into the pink layers of a setting sun over the glassy waters of the Upper Newport Back Bay in Newport Beach. It’s an easy paddle, even for 1st-timers and passes through a magnificent bird estuary, and over Amsterdam-like canals lined with the quaint and more stunning homes on Balboa Islands. The area’s wild life includes birds, seals, sea lions, dolphins and more. If you’re lucky, Danny may extend the evening by stopping for hot chocolate or a frozen banana on the island. You’ll then paddle back under moonlit waters.
Ages 8+ (there’s even been an 80-year old previously), and all levels are welcome. However, if you have a medical condition or walking up a flight of stairs makes you short of breath, this is not for you.
FYI: Even on COLD evenings, it is WARM once you’re on the water. Dress in layers.
