On Monday, May 28, the Balboa Island Museum and the Balboa Island Improvement Association (BIIA) will co-host a BBQ in the Balboa Island Park on Agate Avenue by the Ferry from Noon to 3 pm to honor all Veterans.
They will be presenting certificates and lapel pins to several categories of people connected to a Vietnam War Vet. A Vietnam War Veteran is a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period from November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975 regardless of location who will be awarded a lapel pin and other items.
Besides gifts to all Vietnam Vets themselves, there will be special presentations of Certificates of Honor to surviving family members of KIAs from all of Newport Beach.
