The Hoag Hospital Foundation will once again deck the halls at the 52nd Annual Christmas Carol Ball. The much beloved holiday event brings together more than 600 Hoag supporters, volunteers and friends for an evening of fun, fellowship and fabulous food along with dancing and special holiday touches in a gorgeous setting.
The Christmas Carol Ball started in 1966 as the Voices of Christmas, an event featuring A-list Hollywood actors and performers who gathered at the Balboa Bay Club in support of Hoag. Dedicated 552 Club booster, Marshall Duffield, invited his Hollywood friends to sing Christmas carols and read poetry. Harry Babbitt sang, Buddy Ebsen tap-danced, Andy Devine read “Twas the night before Christmas” and John Wayne recited a poem.
Last year, the Christmas Carol Ball broke all previous records raising more than $1.79 million to support Hoag.
