Children’s Hospital Orange County (CHOC Children’s) Glass Slipper Guild will host an enchanting evening in honor of the Guild’s 21st anniversary with a Night in the Bohemian Garden, on Saturday May 2nd at the Newport Dunes in Newport Beach. The Glass Slipper Guild has planned a sensational and inspiring event characteristic of the young, fun and philanthropic women in their guild. The Glass Slipper Guild expects to complete the goal of funding a $1,000,000 pledge for the new 6,400 square-foot Post Anesthesia Care Unit for the Surgery Department of the new Bill Holmes CHOC Children’s Tower with the proceeds from 21st annual gala.
Overlooking the sunset on the Back Bay, the formal event begins at 5:00 PM with a red carpet entrance to a spectacular lounge housed inside the same tent used at the Golden Globes. Built from the ground up by South Bay event agency Choura Events, the massive 18,000 square-foot tent is the largest used in Orange County for such an event. Guests will enjoy specialty cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as they peruse an exciting silent auction. At 7:00 PM, guests will make their way further into the stunningly decorated tent for dinner, a live auction and a special presentation. Following the dinner presentation and live auction, gala attendees will head to the adjacent Back Bay Bistro at 10:00 PM for an after party featuring a casino and music to celebrate the night.
The evening will honor the tremendous efforts of CHOC Children’s and the young lives that CHOC strives to treat and cure, along with those that support this incredible cause. Attendees of the event will hear firsthand accounts from CHOC patients and their parents.
CHOC is the only private, not-for-profit hospital in Orange County devoted exclusively to caring for children, regardless of ability to pay. Fundraising efforts by guilds such as Glass Slipper are critical to supporting this mission. Last year the Gala raised over $330,000 for CHOC and this year it is expected to raise even more, meeting and hopefully exceeding the goal of pledging $1,000,000 to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

The 2015 Gala is to continue funding the Guild’s $1,000,000 pledge for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit in the new Bill Holmes CHOC Children’s Tower. This is a vital area where patients and their families will come after procedures requiring any type of anesthesia. The Surgery Department in the new Bill Holmes Tower will allow these procedures to be performed in-house, helping CHOC recruit and retain the caliber of talent that makes the hospital a first-rate children’s hospital.
