Newport Beach’s Passion for Power…Rev Up Your Weekends!
Drive down Pacific Coast Highway on any weekend and you are bound to find an endless parade of sparkling, high-performance cars scooting up and down the roadway. Some have gathered for impromptu coffee & car chats, while others are attending car club gatherings, or just out for a morning on the open road. All the toys come out and it is a treat to watch them proudly zip past–applying pedal to the metal, as they say. Along Pacific Coast Highway, just north of Jamboree… it is really the land of “Car Culture Row Dealerships”. The gang’s all here–Lamborghini, Maserati, Ferrari, Bentley, Porsche, McLaren, Audi, and vintage consignment collectables galore. It’s a candy store of cars!
Balboa Car Show is held every Sunday morning. Passionate drivers are up early and on deck to chat up their robust car culture right here on Balboa Peninsula. Hoods are up and all “shined for show”. Owners and enthusiasts alike juggle coffee, breakfast treats and walk around the paddock chatting up their car stories. Anyone who appreciates historic cars is welcome and it is free to attend.
There is a parking lot chock-full with historic cars with passionate car owners all anxious to share their prized possessions and stories of how they found their cars, located parts, and just ogling. Pantera, Cobra, Corvette, Woody, Mustang, Ranch Wagon with surfboards atop, Ford GT 40, Chevelle, Austin Healey, and so much more! There are raffle prizes, and classic rock music provides the morning backdrop. The group also raises funds for Teen Challenge and Costa Mesa Motor Cars and Meguiar’s are both enthusiastic supporters. This event is located at the Balboa Village Fun Zone parking lot on Balboa Peninsula. The display of cars can be found on the corner of Balboa Blvd. and Palm St. right near the Balboa Ferry from 7:00-9:00am every Sunday.
4th Annual Russo And Steele Car Auction – The king of Collector Automobile Auctions makes a stop in Newport Beach and basically takes over the north end of Newport Dunes. Sellers check in their cars on Wednesday and Thursday, June 8-9, bidders register, auction preview begins Thursday June 9th and the Auction is held Friday, June 10th through Sunday, June 12th. Russo and Steele brings outstanding, highly collectable European Sports, American Muscle, Hot Rods and Customs to the pristine Pacific coastline of Newport Beach, California where they continue to provide the intensely passionate, high energy “Auction in the Round” experienced enthusiasts have come to expect. There is a large stable of cars already up on the web site featuring photos and many details for each car available on consignment. Mark your calendar!
Cars & Café at Moulin Bistro – This café embraces the world of fine cars and breakfast fare once a month (on the last Sunday of the month). On Sunday, May 29th from 7:00-9:00am guests can enjoy viewing exotic and antique cars, and of course delicious breakfast and pastries, and coffee beverages too!

OC Cars and Coffee is a weekly Saturday gathering of auto enthusiasts where hundreds of proud drivers will congregate to kick tires and have a cup of coffee. There is something for everyone to enjoy—from classics, exotics, concepts, hotrods, to motorcycles and motor-sport. And it’s all free, minus the coffee of course. Every week they feature a charity that they support, such as CHOC Children’s Hospital. Join the fun every Saturday from 7:00am-9:00am at the OC Market Place located at 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa.
