VISIT NEWPORT BEACH “LIVE THE DREAM” SWEEPSTAKESOFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
1. HOW TO ENTER SWEEPSTAKES/EARN A PREMIUM OFFER: The Visit Newport Beach “Live the Dream” Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is an online and mail-in Sweepstakes. Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:00 AM (PT) on 2/13/12 and ends at 11:59:59 PM (PT) on 12/31/12 (“Promotion Period”). To enter, go to www.visitnewportbeach.com/dream (“Website”) and follow the online instructions to register; or you may enter offline as more fully described below. Registration is free. If entering online, once you have completed your registration, follow the online instructions to complete the following actions:
A. “RFP” Premium Offer. Earn a premium offer in the form of a $100 Nordstrom Store Gift Card by submitting a qualified RFP to Visit Newport Beach via the Website. A qualified RFP consists of fifty (50) rooms or more for a single meeting, one year history required. Limit one (1) RFP premium per person for the Promotion Period. Gift card is subject to the terms and conditions associated with its use. Gift card issued upon conversion to solid lead in a participating Newport Beach hotel. RFP must be sourced directly through a Visit Newport Beach representative.
B. “Book A Meeting” Premium Offer. Earn a premium offer in the form of a $250 American Express Gift Card by booking a meeting in Newport Beach from a previously submitted RFP. Booking must consist of a minimum of fifty (50) rooms for a single meeting and booking must occur by 12/31/12 (“Qualified Meeting Booking”). Limit one (1) Meeting Booking Premium Offer per each event booked for the Promotion Period. RFP/booking must be sourced directly through Visit Newport Beach (Sponsor). American Express Gift Cards are useable at locations that accept American Express Cards. American Express is not affiliated with this sweepstakes except as a prize provider. Some limitations apply.
C. Sweepstakes Entry. For a successful Qualifying Meeting Booking that an eligible entrant completes, they will earn an entry into the Sweepstakes. Limit one (1) entry per each valid Qualified Meeting Booking for the Sweepstakes.
D. Mail-in Sweepstakes Entry (Offline Entry). You may also enter without submitting an RFP or Booking a Meeting by hand writing, on a plain 3” x 5” piece of paper, your name, address, age and daytime/evening phone numbers. Mail your entry in an envelope with sufficient postage affixed to: Visit Newport Beach “Live the Dream” Sweepstakes, Attn: Entry, P.O. Box 13263, Newport Beach, CA 92658. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by 12/31/12 and received by 1/7/13. Limit one (1) entry per outer stamped envelope. Entrants must be a legal resident of the fifty (50) United States and District of Columbia who are 21 years of age or older at time of entry and are employed as a professional meeting or event planner (defined as: an individual responsible for planning all aspects of a meeting. Duties include budget management, date selection, transportation coordination, décor and theme selection, overseeing of registration process, menu selection, and on-site management).
All entries become the property of Visit Newport Beach Inc. (“Sponsor”) and will not be returned. In the event of a dispute regarding entries, any entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the Authorized Account Holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry, provided that person meets all eligibility requirements set forth in these Official Rules. “Authorized Account Holder” means the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Entrants may not participate with multiple e-mail addresses, nor may entrants use any device or artifice to enter multiple times or as multiple entrants. Any entrant who attempts to enter with multiple e-mail addresses, under multiple identities or uses any other device or artifice to enter multiple times will be disqualified from participation in the Sweepstakes and all entries submitted by that entrant will be void. Only fully completed entries are eligible. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor. Sponsor is not responsible for any change of mailing address, email address, and/or telephone number of entrants.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and District of Columbia who are 21 years of age or older at time of entry and are employed as a professional meeting or event planner (defined as: an individual responsible for planning all aspects of a meeting. Duties include budget management, date selection, transportation coordination, décor and theme selection, overseeing of registration process, menu selection, and on-site management). Employees of Visit Newport Beach Inc., affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate. By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants authorize they meet all eligibility requirements.
3. RANDOM DRAWING: Winner will be selected in a random drawing on or about 1/15/13 from among all eligible entries received by Sponsor or its designee, the judges in this Sweepstakes, whose decisions are final and binding. Winner will be notified by phone, mail and/or email at Sponsor’s discretion.
4. PRIZE/APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (ARV)/ODDS: One (1) Grand Prize - A 7-day/6-night trip for winner and one (1) guest for a “Live the Dream” Package in Newport Beach, CA (ARV $9,505). Prize includes round trip coach class air transportation for winner and one (1) guest from major airport nearest winner’s home to Orange County, CA; 7-days use of a luxury-class rental car (to be awarded in the form of a voucher to winner)/use of rental car subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agency, some restrictions apply; 6-nights lodging at a Sponsor-selected beachfront vacation rental (based on double occupancy); a $200 Fashion Island® Gift Card (winner only); a private dining experience on a Hornblower® Yacht; a Duffy Boat Tour of Newport Beach Harbor; a choice of two of the following: spa package ($175 value), golf package ($185 value) or stand-up paddle board rental ($75 value); a Restaurant Experience (to be awarded in the form of a $100 gift card); and $2,000 for expenses and applicable taxes (winner only – to be awarded in the form of a check). Gift card is subject to the terms and conditions associated with its use. Trip must be taken by 12/15/2013 (certain blackout dates apply) or prize will be forfeited in its entirety. Winner and guest must travel on same itinerary. Trip prize will be scheduled by Sponsor or its designee at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Actual retail value of prize may vary depending on winner’s residence and may fluctuate due to market conditions, changes in value of components, (e.g. air transportation and hotel rates) and other reasons. If, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, air travel is not required due to winner’s proximity to Newport Beach, CA, Sponsor will substitute air transportation with ground transportation between winner’s residence and hotel, and the difference in value will not be awarded. Grand Prize does not include taxes, tips, gratuities, meals (other than those indicated herein), service charges, laundry service, alcoholic beverages, merchandise, souvenirs, local and long distance telephone calls, airport charges, or any other service or item not specifically described above. In the event that any component of the prize is cancelled, delayed, or postponed for any reason outside the control of the Sponsor, Sponsor will have no further obligation, other than to award the remainder of the prize. Odds of winning depend on total number of eligible entries received. Unclaimed prize will not be awarded. All applicable federal, state, and local taxes on prize are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. Grand Prize winner will receive a 1099 tax form for the approximate retail value of the prize.
5. GENERAL: Potential Grand Prize winner will be required to sign and return a notarized Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and, where permitted by law, Publicity Release within fourteen (14) days after first notification attempt. Guest of Grand Prize winner (if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian must be the Grand Prize winner and must sign on their behalf) must sign and return a Liability/Publicity Release prior to awarding of prize. If prize notification or prize is returned as non-deliverable, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected. No correspondence will be acknowledged. No cash equivalents, substitutions or transfer of prize permitted except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event that an offered prize is unavailable. Subject to all federal, state and local laws/regulations. Neither Sponsor, its respective subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising, promotion agencies nor their employees will have any liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use and/or misuse of any prize or participation in the Sweepstakes or any prize-related activities. Acceptance of a prize shall be construed as and signify the winner’s agreement and consent that Sponsor may use the winner’s name, address (city and state), voice, likeness and/or prize information, without limitation, for promotional purposes without further consideration, review, approval or payment, where allowed by law. By participating in this Sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects. Sponsor not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer or in administration of the Sweepstakes.
6. INTERNET: Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, mutilated or illegible entries nor for electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor or presenter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof. If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Internet portion of the Sweepstakes and select the winner by random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the point of the action taken by the Sponsor. Caution: Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the game is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent of the law.
