Lido House Hotel

December 18, 2013

A new addition may be coming soon to Newport Beach in the form of a luxury boutique hotel. With its nautical architectural style and Cape Cod influence, the hotel would be indicative of the city’s charming sophistication and the aspirational lifestyle that one can experience while residing here. The Lido House Hotel is envisioned as a neighborhood icon that will not only represent the ultimate Newport Beach home, but will also revitalize Lido Marina Village.

Lido House Hotel would provide a gateway to the Balboa Peninsula and would allow guests to experience the casual elegance of Newport Beach while they enjoy spending time at a home away from home. Drawing influence from Shutters in Santa Monica and L’Auberge Del Mar, developers of the hotel aim to give residents and guests a refreshing, relaxing respite from everyday life while capturing the community’s nautical history. Atop the hotel, a stunning rooftop deck and dining terrace would be available for guests to absorb breathtaking bay and ocean views and escape from reality.

Inside the Lido House Hotel developers plan to design 130 rooms, including 17 extended stay suites (ideal for hosting out of town guests); 4,000 square feet of meeting space, including a ballroom and events lawn (perfect for weddings, family reunions, small meeting events and charity benefits); and the WK Grill Restaurant, which would feature fresh, health-conscious California cuisine.

The hotel’s exterior would be home to 1.6 acres of open space and would also include a new 0.7-acre Bay to Beach Park along Newport Boulevard to preserve the two existing historic ficus trees that reside there. This park would be open to the public and would provide an open environment for residents and guests to relax and unwind.

Only a short walk away from the water and situated in the quaint Lido Village neighborhood, Lido House Hotel would give residents and guests the opportunity to explore dining, shopping, artisan markets and more all while taking in views of the harbor and experiencing the nautical charm that makes Lido Village a truly unique Newport Beach neighborhood. Proposals for Lido House Hotel are under review by the City of Newport Beach, but if all goes smoothly, we can expect to see the hotel open in Summer 2017.
