Position:          Brand Marketing & Community Relations Manager

Summary ofPosition:

Develops successful, strategic partnership programs andalliances within the Newport Beachcommunity. Responsible for the development and implementation of a variety ofstrategic alliances, marketing, and promotional programs between VNB and thehotel, attraction, transportation, and other community hospitality partners.  This position also oversees and executespartner service programs, tourism development programs, educational seminars,networking opportunities and events for the community tourism partners of NewportBeach. Strategically works with the Marketing and Sales teams to support andenhance the Bureau eMarketing and Public Relations initiatives and coordinatesthe production of all VNB publications including the annual Visitors Guide,Meeting Planner Guide, Boutique Hotel Guide, Map Guide and other publications.

 

Duties andResponsibilities (Include but are not limited to the following):

  • Liaise with online consultant and or ad agency and VNB Marketing Team for content and creative deadlines for all advertising campaigns and promotions
  • Responsible for tracking all meeting industry ad buys, delivery dates, content, partner communication and reporting
  • Work with the internet marketing consultant to develop online programs and campaigns to drive greater visitation to the VNB and partner websites
  • Oversee the traffic/organization of the creation process of collateral materials to promote NB including Official Newport Beach Visitors Guide, Meeting Planner Guide, Boutique Hotel Guide, Visitor Kiosk Directories, Map Guide, etc.
  • Act as a staff support to the city's marketing committee, charged with development of cooperative marketing campaigns that leverage and extend available budgetary resources
  • Publish the monthly partner e-newsletter
  • Meet with hotels and attraction partners quarterly to strategize and assess their individual and collective needs
  • Assist with the development of the VNB's Annual Marketing Plan
  • Maintain statistics and provide reports on marketing campaign programs and monthly activity reports to the Senior VP of Marketing and Board of Directors
  • Provide and coordinate all partnership programs including the Annual Dinner, Annual Holiday Celebration, educational seminars and networking events
  • Maintain a partner database in Simpleview, responsible for organizing and updating partner records including listing information
  • Work closely with Senior VP of Marketing and Marketing Technology Coordinator to monitor and analyze website activity for VNB partners including link tracking, URL referrals, Visitor Guide/Digimag downloads, page views and unique visitors; recommend changes to the strategy and presence of partners on website
  • Create strategic programs with hotel partners and community hospitality businesses that will result in increased revenue and room night production, develop co-operative and individual promotional opportunities geared to partners' specific needs
  • Works closely with Director of Communications to maximize VNB community involvement and outreach
  • Work closely with Chamber of Commerce, SNA Airport Authority, air carriers and other vital community organizations to entrench the VNB into community efforts
  • Manage link exchange program
  • Once Visitors Concierge Desk is in position at Fashion Island, will assist with volunteer staffing, training, and management of the Visitor Center at Fashion Island
  • Responsible for membership program outside of Newport Beach City limits such as Tustin Ranch Golf, South Coast Plaza Restaurants, Disney, etc.

 Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience required.
  • A background in hospitality industry preferred with marketing and/or sales experience.
  • Event planning experience strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding written and presentation skills
  • Enjoys daily interactions with partners.
  • Excellent written communication skills to accurately edit, proof, and/or compose business correspondence, reports, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, eMarketing, and PowerPoint.
  • Works with the public and projects an enthusiastic and professional appearance.
  • Requires prioritization, outstanding organizational skills, coordination, planning, and attention to detail as well as the ability to multitask.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills required to be able to work with little supervision.
